Natick Photographer – Fall is in the Air!

As fall becomes more and more evident in Natick. I’ve taken my camera out to capture what I love about New England. From the waterfall in South Natick to the beautiful house on Union Street to the pulse of a hummingbird, I am amazed during the wonderful season of fall. Enjoy!

The 9/11 Memorial Unveiling and Ceremony in Natick, Massachusetts

Tonight I documented the unveiling ceremony of the 9/11 memorial in my lovely little town of Natick.  The ceremony was represented by the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy and our local FD & PD. We also had our local town selectman, state and local representatives in attendance. The ceremony kicked off with the the national anthem, a speech by Police Chief Hicks, Fire Chief White, and Selectman Joshua Ostroff. The unveiling shortly followed with the folding of the US flag and the presentation of the monument. I managed to grab a few frames of the sculptor Jeff Buccacio and family. BTW The beam weighs about 8,000 pounds, and is 3 feet tall, and 6 feet long, massive! Here’s some of the images that I captured. Also, check out my previous post prior to the ceremony where Jeff and Nina were finalizing the memorial and meeting curious onlookers.

Natick’s 9/11 Memorial – Before the Ceremony

I woke up today with a goal. I wanted to see Natick’s 9/11 Memorial at the Natick Police/Fire Station in Natick Center. I grabbed my cameras, jumped on my bike, and headed downtown to see if the monument was presented. To my surprise, preparations were being made for the big ceremony tonight at 6pm. I met Jeff and Nina Buccacio. Jeff is the artist behind creating the monument. Over the course of the next few hours people, news reporters,  and people who were at ground zero streamed in and out. They talked about the girder from one of the towers, the plaque, and the sundial that marks when the attacks occurred. Jeff Buccacio is a Natick resident, artists, and former designer/sculptor for numerous Hollywood movies. Here’s some of the images that I captured.

Boston Photographer – The Colonnade Hotel Boston and The Knot Best of Weddings 2014

I woke up to see a post on Facebook from the Colonnade Hotel and their page on The Knot. They were selected two years in a row for The Knot Best of Weddings. Congratulations!! Great job!! In the post I noticed that they featured several of my images on their page on The Knot which, I was completely humbled by. Thank you Colonnade!! The Colonnade is located on Huntington Ave. across the street from the Prudential Mall, the Christian Science Center, right in Back Bay.

The location is perfect for weddings, events, or just enjoying Boston. I have enjoyed a stay at the Colonnade over a New Years. I was thoroughly impressed with the whole experience. Access was super easy being right off the Pike. I parked and was walking to the my room within 15 minutes of getting off the highway. Once we settled in we enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Brasserie JO before heading out for the night’s festivities. We enjoyed a night of fireworks and fun on top of a friends brownstone, which was awesssomeee! The next day we enjoyed a slow morning at the Rooftop pool with a scrumptious brunch and plenty of relaxing sun. Ahhhhhh… Perfect! If you are looking for wedding venue in Back Bay, check out The Colonnade Hotel and you’ll find a definitely luxurious venue. Check out their Knot page here.

Natick Photographer – A Personal Assignment to Capture Elm Bank

One of my favorite photography challenges is to take one lens, this time a macro lens (a lens to shoot small stuff) a 50mm 2.5 to be exact, my camera, and create a personal assignment. This time I took a little bike ride over to my local bastion of horticultural beauty, Elm Bank. Elm bank and the Massachusetts Horticultural Society is a great place to walk, play, take portraits, have a wedding, or just lay on the ground and stare into the sky. I was so happy to find a Lotus flower in my journey and created a few frames that I dig. Here’s what I captured.
