Liz and Mike’s Engagement Shoot - Bad Asses on a Harley Davidson!

I had the pleasure of shooting an engagement session for two of the coolest people that I’ve met in a long time. Liz and Mike are getting married in October of this year at Payson Park Church. The reception will follow at The Lyman Estate in Waltham.

Another DVD Done!

Tonight I finished another DVD for an engagement shoot that I shot. I’m printing out the DVD as I type this and the cover will be done in a few minutes. This DVD of high resolution images is for Holly and Josh. Their wedding will be a great break in the winter for a really exciting wedding. I can’t wait for Feburary and to have my birthday while we’re away. I really can’t remember the last time that I was enjoying sunny warm weather on my birthday but, I can tell ya that I’ll never forget the Blizzard of 78 bday party. Brrrr…..

Roger Williams Park - Cranston, RI

Today I had an engagement session with Holly and Josh at Roger Williams Park in Cranston, RI. It was a bit cold but, not to bad. We started off at the Carousel Village and moved to several locations around the park. The engagement brought back many memories of my childhood. I grew up in RI and spent many days at the park boating, fishing, seeing fireworks, and exploring. Ahh.. the memories… Back to Holly and Josh. I really must commend the two of them. They came out not quite as dressed as I was. It was sunny but, mostly chilly. They really made every effort to stay warm and happy but, after a few hours… they were ca ca- cold! This will be a far cry from their wedding day on the Royal Caribbean Cruise. I’m psyched!

Engagement Pictures at Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary - Norfolk, MA

Today I shot some engament pics for Tara and Scott. Tara is the sister of Tracy whom I shot last year at her wedding on the cape. Tara and Scott’s wedding will take place in July at a sweet location on the water, nice! We decided to head to a wildlife sanctuary in Norfolk for the session. It was a great day and the location was very diverse. We moved from location to location having fun, shooting pics, and enjoying the fantastic weather. I’m really looking forward to their wedding day, it will be great! Here’s some pictures from their shoot.

Engagment Pictures at The Collings Foundation - Stow, Massachusetts

I recently shot some engagement pictures for a great couple that are both professional pilots. I also completely love airplanes and have flown smaller private planes a few times in my life. My father used to be a flight instructor but, hasn’t flown in long time. I picked up RC flying many years ago and sold most of my RC planes to get into photography.

Back to Jeff and Jessica. We tried to get a shot on a local airport. Either in a hangar or on the flight line. Unfortunately, the security in place doesn’t allow any abiltiy to do this. We went back and forth with locations and each came back as a negative. I then remembered a location that I attended during a CRRC event. This was a private museum that was dedicated to restoring and preserving older aircraft. I called up the Collings Foundation and asked about the possibility of shooting the engagment session at their private hangar. We worked out the times and got approval for the shoot! I was psyched!

Our timeline was pretty tight due to the fact that their wedding was on 5/5 and the shoot took place on 5/1. We shot for several hours in a quite, sunny, and fantastic location. I was psyched just to be there, nevermind shooting a great couple. We had many different aircraft to work with and numerous different non-aircraft locations. It was spectacular! I really enjoyed the shoot but, the pressure was on to get through the images, post them, and order the prints for framing by the wedding day. In the end, Jeff and Jessica were extatic with the results and the framed 16×24 looked great in the 24×36 double matted frame.

The best part of this story is that this was a trade for flight time. We traded the time and framed print for a flight down to Martha’s Vineyard (which I’ve never been to) in a rented Piper Seminole from Executive Flyers Aviation. I’m trying to talk them into Trashing the Dress at the beach when we get there. I’m pretty sure I saw a smile on Jessica’s face when I mentioned it. So, we’ll be flying down to the Vineyard this month, enjoying a great day Dress Trashin, flying, and buzzing some seals.

More pictures and slideshow are here.

And their slideshow for the cocktail hour.

The Choppah Shoot in LV

Today is truly a day I’ve looked forward to for the last two years. When I started going to the DWF convention in 2005 I dreamt of renting a bike. This year with the effort of Mark Gardner Photography, Rob Valenca from Valenca Photography, and myself, the dream came true. Mark and I rented some sick custom choppers in LV. These were actually theme bikes for LV and of the hardtail variety. We rented them from Royce at Moto Trends in Las Vegas. The bikes are actually owned by CycLease, which is a US based motorcycle rental outlet. I have to say, I was a bit nervous to ride the Raptor chopper. It was loud, sexy, and screamed with mojo. Mark arrainged to shoot a model and as a added bonus, we had another highly animated photographer, Jeanie Ow, and her hot boyfriend Cam. The two of them shot with LV visionary Alt F on Friday. We created our own version of painting with light as the sunset came upon us. The results weren’t to bad but, we used a video light to light the model and a handheld flash on the bikes. I also setup a cam to caputre time lapse images of the day and made a slideshow of or adventure. It was truly a spectacular day that I’ll never forget. Thanks Mark, Rob, Daizee, fellow wedding photographer Jeanie Ow from Stu-di-o, and her boyfriend Cam, from Vancouver for the fantastic day! Also, brides and grooms or any combination within, who have a chopper get special discounts if we can work in another chopper shoot.

Here’s my slideshow…(in larger resolution)
