The Barn at Gibbet Hill – Groton, Massachusetts

I recently shot a wedding with the supah wickedly cool Saucey Stacey Doyle for supah stylin studio of The Tirados. The ceremony was at The Barn at Gibbet Hill in Groton MA. I had a few firsts for this wedding. First was the bride and groom went directly to a pub they frequented in Lowell. Sweeeet! Second, as Stacey and I were scoping out the area for pictures and the possibilities of jumping this little fence and get some big scenery shoots with the bride and groom but, I happened to notice a letter electric meter. Yeah so, that means it’s electrified. No jumpin fences today. Oh well but, the story doesn’t end there. Once we completed shooting the group pictures several of the children decided to have a race to the fence. Yeah, I made sure I spoke up and said, “Hey, that’s electrified!” Well, the needless to say, one of the children was shocked but, that’s not all! We had a bridesmaid that had never heard of a electric fence. See pictures below! The father of the bride decided to show her the wonderous properties of electricity. Needless to say, she was shocked with the results..da du dunnn. The reception was totally off the hook. People were dancin, people were on other peoples shoulders, music was awesome and let’s just say spirits were high. It was a blast shootin with Stacey and our happy couple Laura & Brendan! Woot! Woot!

The Colonnade hotel has a Smart Fortwo!

I had the distinct pleasure of capturing the Colonnade hotel’s new Smart Fortwo. They have a sweet blue and silver tridion cell hard top Passion with their logo on the side and back.  Here’s one of the images in the jumped out at me right away. Just a tease!

I’ve had a little bit more time to work on some of the images for the Colonnade. Their Smart is pretty slick I have to say after spending plenty of time looking it while editing. So, enough said. Here’s a few more that I really like. Long live the Smart!

The above image was shot using a technique that was recently taught at the Very Alt F seminar. It’s called painting with light. The idea is to program the camera to shot a frame every 5 seconds or so. You then walk around the scene flashing the scene when the shutter actuates. Pretty cool hah! The above frame is 8 frames that was painted together in Photoshop. It takes time but, I think the results are worth it.

It’s been pretty cool seeing the curiousity with the Smart. I’ve had so so many people and ask me questions about my little BW cabrio. Yeah, it’s small but, it’s plenty roomy inside and lemme tell ya. After a wedding, heated seats are my best friend. Yeah, you try luggin around a few cameras, lenses, crouching, standing up, crouching, dancing, and just plan ol focused attention… and you’ll know exactly what I mean. Heated Seats Rock! Anyways, yeah the Smart, Love IT! Seriously.

The Higgins House – Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Recently I shot the wedding of Stephanie and Matt’s at the Higgins House at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The Higgins house is an old Tudor style old school mansion. We had the ceremony on the grounds, the reception was tented and the dancing was indoors. The day was mostly sunny but, the weather changed and we had a bit of rain during the speeches. One of my favorite parts of the night was the dancing and some cool shoots that the couple captured at the end of the night. Also, the bride had a friend of the family with a sweet old convertible drive them to the ceremony. Well, just the FOB, bride, and MOH. Pretty Sweet!
