East Baptist Church - Jimmy’s Allenhurst - Danvers, MA

Today was the wedding of Nefar and Fernand. This is contract wedding that employs me based on my unbooked dates. One of the aspects that I enjoy about this is that I show up, shoot, and send the cards back to the studio. The downside, low, low pay but, it helps pays the bills. This wedding I second shot and it was my first haitian wedding. There was a large wedding party that had plenty of style. I started out at the grooms house, then meet at local park to shoot group pictures, we then headed to the ceremony at East Baptist Church in Lynn and wrapped it up at Jimmy’s Allenhurst in Danvers for the reception. This wedding had tons of energy and love. I was captivated by the emotion and had a great day of shooting.

Engagement Pictures at Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary - Norfolk, MA

Today I shot some engament pics for Tara and Scott. Tara is the sister of Tracy whom I shot last year at her wedding on the cape. Tara and Scott’s wedding will take place in July at a sweet location on the water, nice! We decided to head to a wildlife sanctuary in Norfolk for the session. It was a great day and the location was very diverse. We moved from location to location having fun, shooting pics, and enjoying the fantastic weather. I’m really looking forward to their wedding day, it will be great! Here’s some pictures from their shoot.

Our First House!! - Yipeeeeeeeee!

Today is a big day for us. We finally started the process of buying our first house. We’re staying in the same town and thankfully we’re moving a few miles from our current residence. The house is great! It was bought in April by a contractor that flips about 8 to 10 houses a year. This house was completely remodeled and has a gorgeous kitchen. The floors are all hardwood, the colors are all earth tones, and the yard is fantastic. We’ll be closing at the end of June and have tons of work to do before then. Did I mention that I have 5 weddings to shoot between now and then…..

Additionally, I’ll finally have a nice client meeting space with my own fireplace. Oooohh.. Ahhh… shake it baby!!!!

Jeff and Jessica at Nahant Villiage Church and Peabody Marriott

Last Saturday I covered the wedding of Jeff and Jessica. I shot their engagment session earlier this week, see post below. We started off at the Peabody Marriott where Jessica was getting ready. Then I took the limo ride over to Nahant Village Church for the Ceremony and back to the Marriott for the reception. The night was fun and full of dancing! It was a real pleasure covering their wedding day. I look forward to our airplane ride to Martha’s Vineyard for some more fun!

Engagment Pictures at The Collings Foundation - Stow, Massachusetts

I recently shot some engagement pictures for a great couple that are both professional pilots. I also completely love airplanes and have flown smaller private planes a few times in my life. My father used to be a flight instructor but, hasn’t flown in long time. I picked up RC flying many years ago and sold most of my RC planes to get into photography.

Back to Jeff and Jessica. We tried to get a shot on a local airport. Either in a hangar or on the flight line. Unfortunately, the security in place doesn’t allow any abiltiy to do this. We went back and forth with locations and each came back as a negative. I then remembered a location that I attended during a CRRC event. This was a private museum that was dedicated to restoring and preserving older aircraft. I called up the Collings Foundation and asked about the possibility of shooting the engagment session at their private hangar. We worked out the times and got approval for the shoot! I was psyched!

Our timeline was pretty tight due to the fact that their wedding was on 5/5 and the shoot took place on 5/1. We shot for several hours in a quite, sunny, and fantastic location. I was psyched just to be there, nevermind shooting a great couple. We had many different aircraft to work with and numerous different non-aircraft locations. It was spectacular! I really enjoyed the shoot but, the pressure was on to get through the images, post them, and order the prints for framing by the wedding day. In the end, Jeff and Jessica were extatic with the results and the framed 16×24 looked great in the 24×36 double matted frame.

The best part of this story is that this was a trade for flight time. We traded the time and framed print for a flight down to Martha’s Vineyard (which I’ve never been to) in a rented Piper Seminole from Executive Flyers Aviation. I’m trying to talk them into Trashing the Dress at the beach when we get there. I’m pretty sure I saw a smile on Jessica’s face when I mentioned it. So, we’ll be flying down to the Vineyard this month, enjoying a great day Dress Trashin, flying, and buzzing some seals.
